A fresh new year is always exciting to me. A new paper agenda to schedule allll the things, carefully highlighting them with their corresponding colour. Now that I’m out of school, a new agenda is as close as I get to soothing my need for office supplies (true story – I have a weird obsession with these things).
2023 has started off with a bang, and the number of new clients, brands and businesses with which I am blessed to work has been nothing short of amazing.
My first client of 2023 was in fact a new brand and friends, they are doing some INCREDIBLE work …
SALT Leisurewear Inc. is a locally based, sustainable clothing line founded by high school friends, Monique and Tara. Both having struggled with their own health issues throughout the years, the pair created the Breathe and Believe for Cystic Fibrosis Canada gala here in London, Ontario. As time progressed and the two continued to brainstorm, what is now known as SALT Leisurewear was born.
Using high end fabrics, with designs made here in Canada, SALT has created a clothing line inclusive of all genders, sizes, ethnicities and disabilities. Their Resilient line features clothing modified to allow for medical devices such as PICC line and Port access points. Plans to expand the Resilient line are in motion and I for one cannot wait to see what they create next.
Working together with such inspirational humans is really such a blessing to me. In a saturated market, I value any client who trusts me enough to help put images to their brand, but working with a brand or business who puts so much thought and consideration into making their own clients or customers feel valued and accepted – that’s a real win for MEE (and me, personally).
We are currently putting together the plans for another session this month, giving the pieces their own time to shine in a lifestyle session atmosphere. But for now, can we just gush over these creative branding/headshot images of Monique and Tara? They claimed not to know what they were doing, but I think we can say otherwise.
