Pinterest for Planning

You may think of Pinterest as just a place for finding recipes or DIY crafts, but it's so much more than that! Pinterest is a huge space of inspiration for just about anything you can imagine, including branding and product photography!

Any client of mine knows that one of the very first steps we take together in planning our session is my sending a link for a private Pinterest board. Before your session, spend some time browsing Pinterest for images that resonate with your brand's aesthetic. Create a mood board filled with photos that capture the vibe you're going for – whether it's modern and minimalist, rustic and cozy, or something in between. Create boards for specific elements you want to include, like props, poses, lighting setups, and even outfit ideas. You can pin images of products similar to yours to see how they've been styled in photoshoots, or save examples of poses that you think will work well for you or your models. To be clear, our goal is NOT to copy the images you pin, but together we will have a visual guide to use as we move through your session.

One of the best things about Pinterest is that it's a global platform, which means you can find inspiration from all over the world. But since you're based in the Forest City, why not take advantage of that local inspiration? Search for pins related to London's landmarks, parks, architecture, and cultural events. These pins can give you ideas for incorporating elements of your city into your session.

I will periodically check in, both by email and by reviewing your board. If you get stuck or uninspired, I am here to help, 110%. Over the course of MY business I have seen a ton and have tips, tricks and inspiration that may work well within your session - so add me to your list of resources!

Truly, Pinterest isn't just a place to plan your dream wedding or drool over mouth-watering recipes (although it's great for that too). It's also a powerful tool for preparing for your session. So let’s fire up your Pinterest app, grab that link and start pinning those images!
